We are thrilled to announce Griselda Cuevas as our second keynote speaker!
Gris Cuevas is an Open Source Strategist at Google Cloud and an aspiring Data Scientist. She recently obtained a Masters in Data Science from UC Berkeley. Gris has worked on developing online tech communities for the past 8 years and is an active advocate for diversity and inclusion in tech, her principal focus is in growing the participation of Latin American tech practitioners in open source projects. Gris is interested in Big Data Analytics, Natural Language Processing, and Open Source economics. She loves The Beatles, her boxer dog Brodi, and Italian wines.
In her keynote, she is going to speak about Playing fair in the Open Source World:
"In my journey as a new participant in the Open Source world, I've seen that Commercial Vendors often contribute to OSS projects and get burned, sometimes for bragging to much about contributions and other times for not preparing their employees to be good citizens when they play the game. I've worked with my employer to develop tools and platforms that help our employees be good OSS citizens but also effective employees, starting to enjoy contributing to Open Source and integrating their efforts to a healthy career development."
Welcome Gris - we can't wait for June now!
